Özet

This study conducts a comprehensive bibliometric and thematic analysis of the top 500 most-cited articles in the field of Management Information Systems (MIS). Using Scopus as the primary data source, the research identifies the foundational theoretical frameworks, methodological approaches, and emerging trends shaping the MIS discipline. Key findings emphasize the enduring relevance of seminal models, such as the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) and the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), in explaining technology adoption behaviors. Emerging themes, including digital transformation, big data analytics, and privacy concerns, illustrate the field's dynamic evolution in response to technological and societal shifts. Advanced bibliometric techniques, such as keyword co-occurrence analysis, thematic mapping, and historiographic methods, are employed to uncover the intellectual structures and temporal developments within MIS research. The results highlight a globally collaborative research landscape, with highly impactful studies focusing on trust, knowledge management, and innovation. Practical implications for organizations include leveraging digital technologies to enhance performance while addressing challenges related to data security and sustainability. The study concludes by identifying research gaps, particularly in areas involving artificial intelligence, blockchain, and interdisciplinary collaborations, offering directions for future exploration.
