16th International Symposium on Environmental Issues and Waste Management in Energy and Mineral Production (SWEMP) / International Symposium on Computer Applications (CAMI), İstanbul, Turkey, 5 - 07 October 2016
As of 2015, Turkey has lignite reserves of 14.1 billion tons. Approximately half of these reserves are operated by General Directorate of Coal Enterprises (TKI). Run of mine coal excavated from different coal deposits of TKI are cleaned in coal washeries. Washery feedings contain huge amount of coal fines produced during excavation. Due to inefficient washing of coal fines by conventional coal cleaning methods, considerable amount of coal reports to tailings together with impurities in coal. Fine coals in tailings cause economical loss as well as environmental pollutant. In the present study, fine coal tailings from Tuncbilek Coal Washery in Garp Lignite Enterprises (GLI) of TKI was tried to be recovered by oil agglomeration method after and before desliming operation.
