Özet

Pain can be triggered by various natural stimuli (mechanical, thermal, chemical, electrical) which are not spesific to pain. This is why pain in animals is defined as aversive sensory experience caused by real or potential damage that provokes motor and vegetative protective reactions and avoidence behaviour. Pain can also modify the spesific behaviour of the species including its social behaviour. The animal might not verbally express its pain. Therefore, observation of the motor, vegetative or behavioural reactions to a stimulus or to a given situation in an indirect manner is evaluated. Animal models of acute stimulation tests (measurement of reflex or behavioral responses), inflamatuar and visseral pain are investigated in this article.
