Özet

Purpose: The goal of this study is to provide a thorough analysis and comparative review of occupational health and safety regulations applicable to OHS specialist and occupational physicians across three diverse countries: Germany, Iran, and Turkey. The reason for selecting these three countries is to compare the developing countries Turkey and Iran with the developed country Germany, and thus determine the current situation between these countries with different levels of development. Regarding, the main goal is to identify and define the distinctive differences and probable overlaps between these countries' regulations. The ultimate objective is to improve the application of occupational health and safety standards, in terms of these professionals.

Study design/methodology/approach: By comparing the regulations in the considered countries, this study aims to not only identify any potential differences but also explore the potential applicability of effective components from Germany as a developed country to the particular circumstances of Iran and Turkey.

Findings: The findings highlight shared characteristics and subtle differences that exist within the regulations, examining both each country's strategy. Detailed regulations in Iran and Turkey are more prominent, even though it is expected that the investigation will show how Germany's legal regulations can be used to raise occupational health and safety standards in Iran and Turkey, thus encouraging improvements in their respective practices.

Originality/value: This study promotes the applicability of workplace health and safety practices through OHS regulations in terms of OHS specialists and occupational physicians, enhancing the evolution of OHS policy in these developing countries.
