Savonius wind turbines, known for their simplicity, low manufacturing cost, and efficient operation at low wind speeds, present an ideal solution for regions with moderate energy demands. The Black Sea coast, characterised by relatively low average wind speeds, offers a suitable environment for deploying these turbines. The computational fluid dynamics (CFD) method is used in this study to compare how well four different Savonius turbine designs work at three average wind speeds: 3.2 m/s, 4.8 m/s, and 6.4 m/s. Simulations and analysis of the power coefficient (CP) of each model facilitate the identification of the optimal turbine configuration for maximising energy capture in this region. The findings provide a basis for selecting the most efficient Savonius turbine model tailored to the specific wind conditions of the Black Sea coast.
