Özet

This study aims to examine the effects of hand massage and the Jenga on loneliness, comfort and psychological well-being levels in older individuals. The population includes 60 older people distributed equally into three groups. The data were collected by applying the Older Introduction Form (OIF), Loneliness Scale for the Elder (LOSE), General Comfort Scale (GCS) and the Warwick-Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Scale (WE-MWBS) to the older people staying in three nursing homes. The hand massage group received 20 min of hand massage, three days a week for four weeks. The game group was made to play the Jenga once a week. The control group received the institution's service and activities. In the fifth week, the LOSE, GCS and the WE-MWBS were re-applied to all groups. It was observed that both activities increase not only the comfort and psychological well-being levels of the older individuals but also affected the loneliness level negatively.
