Abstract

In this study, some novel 5-(4-chlorobenzyl)-3-(4-chlorophenyl)-1H-1,2,4-triazol derivatives were synthesized starting from 4-amino-3-(4-chlorobenzyl)-5-(4- chlorophenyl)-4H-1,2,4- triazole (1). The structures of the synthesized compounds were clarified using IR, H-1 NMR, C-13 NMR, elemental analyses and mass spectral techniques. The synthesized compounds were tested for antimicrobial and anti-lipase inhibitory activities. Among the tested substances, compounds 3, 8c, 8d, 8e and 9d exhibited good activity against Gram-positive bacteria. Furthermore, all the synthesized compounds were investigated with regard to pancreatic lipase inhibition activity, and compounds 5e, 8b, and 9b showed a considerable anti-lipase activity at various concentrations.
