Growing population rates drive the demand for housing and electricity. Over time, houses could be built in close proximity to previously installed overhead lines. Transmission lines pose a danger to living beings due to the electromagnetic field they emit. The transmission of electricity through high-voltage DC lines is one of the new technologies being used in the world thanks to its advantages such as the ability to carry more energy with reduced loss. This study aimed to measure the electric field and audible noise generated at ground level by 400 kV AC single circuit lines operating as bipolar DC in the Turkish electricity transmission system.
