Özet

Purpose: This study aims to investigate the job satisfaction levels of construction workers employed in the Trabzon province and identify the individual factors influencing job satisfaction. In this context, the study targets the measurement of workers' job satisfaction levels and determination of individual factors affecting job satisfaction.

Study design/methodology/approach: The study encompasses workers employed in various construction projects operating in the Trabzon province. The data collection process was conducted between July and September 2023, employing face-to-face surveys with participants. The survey included questions concerning workers' demographic information and job satisfaction levels. A five-point Likert scale was utilized for workers to express their opinions. The data were evaluated through statistical analyses to obtain results.

Findings: The relationships between individual factors such as age, education level, marital status, experience, salary level of construction workers in Trabzon province, and their job satisfaction levels were obtained. The results of the study provide a significant contribution in understanding the job satisfaction levels of construction workers in Trabzon province and identifying the factors influencing job satisfaction. Furthermore, it can assist employers and relevant stakeholders in understanding which factors they should focus on to enhance the job satisfaction levels of workers and create healthier working conditions.

Originality/value: This study stands as the first examination of individual factors influencing job satisfaction among construction workers in the Trabzon province. The findings are expected to make a substantial contribution to the design of strategies aimed at improving worker satisfaction, both from an academic and business perspective.
