Abstract

Hepatitis A virus (HAV) and Hepatitis B virus (HBV) infections are commonly encountered worldwide. Coinfection with hepatitis viruses generally has a more severe course, especially in pregnant women. HAV and HBV serology should be a part of the routine scanning prior to pregnancy. HAV vaccine and HBV vaccine should be included in the primary vaccination programs worldwide.
