Özet
Nanoscale tribology and wear resistance explores cutting-edge materials and techniques for minimizing friction, enhancing lubrication, and creating durable, wear-resistant surfaces at the nanoscale. Ni-based wear protective surfaces enhance nanoscale tribology and wear resistance through multiple mechanisms. They exhibit high hardness and low surface roughness, minimizing adhesion and abrasion during sliding. Moreover, Ni-based alloys form self-lubricating oxide layers, reducing friction and wear by acting as solid lubricants. These attributes reduce friction, minimize material loss, and extend component lifespans, making Ni-based wear protective surfaces a vital tool in enhancing wear resistance and optimizing the performance of various engineering systems at the nanoscale. In recent years, Ni-based wear-resistant surfaces have been developed with the incorporation of various additive materials to achieve tribological perfection. These advanced surfaces suitable for industrial applications are obtained through coating methods such as electroless coating, electroplating, laser cladding, thermal spraying, CVD, and PVD. Consequently, these Ni-based wear-resistant surfaces with excellent characteristics form the basis for cost-effective, high-performance products and serve the purpose of enhancing wear resistance in industrial applications. In line with this, in this book chapter, we will discuss the compositions and methods used for cost-performance products in the context of Ni-based wear-resistant surfaces that keep pace with recent advancements and technology.
