Abstract

Oxo-titanium(IV) phthalocyanines and their quaternized ionic derivatives substituted with 4-{2-[3-(dimethylamino)phenoxy]ethoxy} and 4-{2[3-(diethylamino)phenoxylethoxy} moieties have been synthesized and their structure have been identified by IR, H-1 and C-13 NMR, mass and UV-Vis spectroscopy techniques. Voltammetric characterizations of the titanium phthalocyanines were performed with cyclic voltammetry and square wave voltammetry techniques. Electrochemical studies display that redox active metal center Ti(IV)OPc, into the phthalocyanine stone enlarges the redox richness of the phthalocyanine ring. Titanium phthalocyanine complexes bearing dimethylamino and diethylamino lead to electropolymerization of the complexes on the working electrode while anodic potential scans. (C) 2013 Elsevier Ltd.
