Prof. AYKUT AKGÜN

Prof. Dr. Aykut Akgün was born in 1976 in Bingöl / Solhan. After completing his primary and secondary education in Istanbul and Izmir, he entered the Department of Geological Engineering of Karadeniz Technical University in 1993 and graduated as a Geological Engineer with the title second. He received his MS degree in Geological Engineering from the Institute of Science and Technology, Karadeniz Technical University in 2001 and his M.Sc. degree in Geological Engineering from the same university. Dr. Akgün has worked at this department between 2001-2007 and completed his doctorate at Dokuz Eylul University, Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Geological Engineering. On August 15, 2007, he was appointed to the Geological Engineering Department of Karadeniz Technical University. Assoc. Dr. and as a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the METU GGIT Institute between 2010-2012. In October 2012, he received the title of Associate Professor. As of January 2018, Akgün became Professor. He is currently a faculty member at the Department of Geological Engineering of Applied Geological Engineering, KTU. He is as working as Director of Landslide Research and Application Center of K.T.U.
