I was born in the Kozagaç village of Bozkır (Konya, Turkey). I completed primary, secondary and high school education in Bozkır. In 1988, I graduated with a high score of BSc degree from the Geological Engineering Department of Selçuk University (Konya, Turkey). In 1990, I worked as a research assistant at the Mineralogy-Petrography Division of the Geological Engineering Department of Selçuk University for a short time. Between 1990 and 1994 with a scholarship from the Ministry of National Education, I had a PhD degree in the field of “volcanic geochemistry and petrology” from the Geology and Applied Geology Department of Glasgow University (Scotland, UK). In 1994, I started my academic life as a faculty member at the Mineralogy-Petrography Division of the Geological Engineering Department of Karadeniz Technical University (Trabzon, Turkey).
I am currently a research fellow and faculty member at the Geological Engineering Department of Karadeniz Technical University. My major research fields cover igneous geochemistry, petrology and geochronology, and I am also interested in alteration mineralogy and geochemistry. My recent and current studies are mainly focused on “petrochronology, geochemistry, petrology and geodynamic evolution of Cenozoic magmatism in NE Turkey”. I also contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education, while I have proved to be a delightful achievement with my scientific activities (projects, papers and presentations etc.) in my research fields. I am married and have three children.
