Biography

Dr. Mehmet Demirci received his bachelor’s degree in Physics Education, Department of Science and Mathematics for Secondary Education in 2008, and Ph.D. degree from Physics in 2015, both from Karadeniz Technical University (KTU), Trabzon, Turkey. He worked as a research assistant from 2009 to 2015 and an Assistant Professor from 2015 to 2020 in the same department and university. He is currently an Assoc. Professor in High Energy Physics, Department of Physics, KTU, since March 2020. His research interests are as follows:

  • High Energy Physics Phenomenology: Standard Model (SM) and new physics beyond the SM, particularly based on models with extended scalar sectors such as MSSM, 2HDM, Inert Doublet Model at hadron colliders and electron-positron colliders.
  • Neutrino Physics: SM and beyond SM from neutrino-electron scattering and coherent elastic neutrino-nucleus scattering.
  • Mathematical Physics: Bound state solutions of relativistic and nonrelativistic equations for some potentials in the physics. He is also interested in Quantum Computation.
