Welcome to the Artificial Intelligence and Learning Systems Research Group (YAZÖĞREN), established within the Department of Computer Science at Karadeniz Technical University! Our group is a dynamic research community focused on the most current and exciting topics in artificial intelligence and machine learning.

Our mission is to deeply explore the theory and applications of artificial intelligence, fostering innovative solutions through interdisciplinary collaborations. We aim to encourage our students and researchers, cultivate future AI experts, and contribute to the technological advancement of our region.

Our Research Areas:

The research interests of our group cover a broad spectrum:

• Image Processing and Computer Vision: Deep learning-based image analysis, object recognition (CNN, YOLO, etc.), image segmentation, and more.
• Natural Language Processing (NLP): Text analysis, topic modeling, large language models (LLM), small language models (SLM), sentiment analysis, and text generation.
• Artificial Intelligence (AI): Fundamental AI algorithms, intelligent systems, and problem-solving approaches.
• Machine Learning (ML): Supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning, deep learning, model development, and evaluation.
• Optimization: Mathematical optimization methods, heuristic algorithms, and AI-assisted optimization techniques.
• Decision Support Systems (DSS): Data-driven decision-making mechanisms, intelligent recommendation systems, and business intelligence applications.
• Time Series Analysis: Modeling, forecasting, and analysis of time series data from various fields such as finance, healthcare, and energy.
• Online Learning: Continuous learning from streaming data, adaptive algorithms, and real-time model updates.
