Biyografi
Dr. Olkan ÇUVALCI, Karadeniz Teknik Üniversitesi (KTÜ) Makine Mühendisliği Bölümü'nde profesördür. KTÜ'de Makine Mühendisliği bölümünden lisans ve yüksek lisans derecelerini sırası ile 1983 ve 1985’te aldı ve 1992'de Texas Tek Üniversitesi Makine Mühendisliği bölümünden doktora derecesini aldı. 1986-1993 yılları arasında KTÜ'de Mühendislik Fakültesi'nde araştırma görevlisi olarak çalıştı. 1996-1999 arasında, Dr. CUVALCI, Texas Tech Üniversitesi Makine Mühendisliği Bölümünde araştırmacı profesör olarak çalıştı. 1999-2000 yılları arasında Western Kentucky Üniversitesi Mühendislik Mühendisliği'nde doçent olarak çalıştı. 1993 yılında KTÜ Makine Mühendisliği Bölümünde yardımcı doçent oldu. 1995 yılında aynı bölümde doçent olarak görev aldı. 2000'den 2012'ye kadar Applied Materials Inc'de tasarım mühendisi ve yönetici olarak çalıştı. Mühendislik ekibi ile birlikte yarı iletken alanında bir çok uluslararası patent aldı. Ardından Türkiye'ye geri döndü ve 2012 yılında KTÜ'de tekrar profesör olarak çalışmaya başladı. Dr. ÇUVALCI, 2013 - 2016 yılları arasında Mühendislik Fakültesi Dekanı olarak görev yaptı. Araştırma alanındaki ilgi alanı, kontrol ve optimizasyon teorisinin kesişme noktaları, test yöntemi geliştirme, doğrusal olmayan dinamik ve tasarım deneysel ve teorik çalışmalar alanlarındadır. Halen KTU'de çalışıyor ve iki çocuğu var.
